Join the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) as Dr. Rick Chalaturnyk and Dr. Don Lawton discuss containment and public assurance monitoring at their two operating carbon dioxide storage sites in Canada.
Dr. Chalaturnyk is Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Alberta and is Principal Investigator, GeoREF Foundation CMG Chair in Reservoir Geomechanics. He is on the Scientific and Engineering Research Committee of the PTRC's Aquistore project, which has stored 365,000 tonnes of CO2 from SaskPower's Boundary Dam facility.
Dr. Don Lawton is a Professor of Geophysics in the Department of Geoscience at the University of Calgary, and is Director of CMC Research Institute's Containment and Monitoring Institute (CaMI), which has its field research station located near Brooks, Alberta. This webinar will look at CO2 monitoring and containment at both deep (Aquistore -3200m) and intermediate (CaMI 300m) levels.
