Pathways to Net Zero: a Transition Accelerator Webinar Series

 Online
 Nov 30, 2022 - 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Carbon Capture and Storage: some count on it as a pathway to a net-zero world, while others say it’s an empty promise. While CCS has been in use and development for more than 20 years and its potential as a technology is considerable, its expense, technological difficulties and limited efficiency are often cited as barriers to its widespread adoption. Nonetheless, with the urgent need to decarbonize, the potential of CCS as a critical mitigation tool for reaching environmental targets continues to garner its champions in industry, government and academia.

Join us for a big-picture discussion about the role of CCS on the road to net zero future. Moderated by energy transition expert Dr. Sara Hastings-Simon (University of Calgary), this event brings together leading thinkers from academia and industry, including Bonnie Drozdowski (Innotech Alberta), Dr. Christina Hoicka (University of Victoria), and Emily Eaton (University of Regina). and James Millar (International CCS Knowledge Centre).
