Regina, CANADA  - Canadian expertise in the development, construction and operation of commercial scale Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) from the lessons learned at SaskPower's Boundary Dam 3 are (once again) the motivation for two China based organizations to seek guidance and counsel from the International CCS Knowledge Centre in order to accelerate the demonstration of CCUS in China.

This week, the China Building Materials Academy (CBMA) and SINOPEC Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (SINOPEC Environmental) - have signed Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) with the International CCS Knowledge Centre, based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The MOU with CBMA aims to accelerate the development, demonstration and application of CCUS to the building materials industry, to sustain the industry sector viability through reduced greenhouse gas emissions in China. The International CCS Knowledge Centre's extensive experience in commericial and industrial scale CCUS operations will support CBMA in their ongoing efforts in developing and piloting carbon capture applied to the Chinese cement kilns.

The MOU with SINOPEC Environmental aims to accelerate the development, demonstration and deployment of CCUS to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide energy security in China. With the knowledge and expertise on CCUS of the full chain project of Boundary Dam the the International CCS Knowledge Centre will support SINOPEC Environmental to further their work on system integration, energy efficieny and performance optimization of carbon capture.

QUOTE
